Bukit Tinggi and Japanese Garden are must-visit destinations if you are planning to visit Genting Highlands from Kuala Lumpur. All of these locations can be covered in a day trip if you leave early in the morning. Most tour operators for a day trip start from 8 am from Kuala Lumpur City and that gives enough time to travel and enjoy various locations in Genting Highlands.
Bukit Tinggi is located further along the freeway to Kuantan. Exit towards Genting Highway has a shopping area with Macdonalds and a Petronas Service Station. Some cafes offer local food and snacks as well. The exit of Bukit Tinggi is approximately 5 km. You will go passed a small town with plenty of restaurants along the main freeway that are popular for local food.
The entry to Bukit Tinggi and Japanese Gardens is gated and you will be required to pay RM 15 for adults and RM 10 per child. The first stop along the way is The Chateau Resort and Bukit Tinggi.
Japanese Garden is further up the road. The car park is located at the base of the Japanese Garden. People who have problems climbing stairs or walking uphill must consider going to this location as there is a bit of an uphill walk.

We stopped over at the Tatami Spa to enjoy a one-hour relaxing massage. The establishment is very well managed and offers a unique experience.
You can enjoy the massage while looking out of a glass window with beautiful views.
The walking track along the Gardens offers a refreshing environment for nature lovers and is definitely an experience to remember.
I have visited the Japanese Garden a couple of times in the last 5 years and always enjoyed the excursion.
