Karon Beach Phuket

Karon Beach Phuket is more popular with families as there is plenty of accommodation for a resort-style holiday. Most serviced apartments and holiday homes contain 2 to 3 bedrooms, suited for extended holidays for families and large groups. 

Karon Beach is more laid back and less commercialized than Patong Beach. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants located along the beach area which makes it very convenient to spend time at the beach and enjoy light meals and drinks afterwards. 

The Big Buddha Status is visible on Karon Beach on a clear day. Karon Lookout is also another popular attraction in the area. A number of operators provide water scooters, parasailing and banana boat activities on the beach. There are plenty of tropical fruit shops located on the main road in Karon. Try out mangosteen, mangoes, guava and jackfruit that is abundantly grown in Thailand. An intake of tropical fruit will keep you hydrated all day long.

As a world of precaution always swim within the lifeguard flags to avoid riptides and eddy currents etc. There are a number of drownings reports on Karon beach each year.
