Changkat Bukit Bintang

Description

Changkat Bukit Bintang is located adjacent to Jalan Alor in the heart of Bukit Bintang. As the night falls the main streets are full of pedestrians, slow-moving traffic, touts, and vendors selling foot reflexology services.

The Changkat Walk has an active nightlife scene with a number of popular bars, nightclubs, cafes, and restaurants. If you plan to party in Kuala Lumpur, I would recommend renting a hotel in Bukit Bintang. Popular 5-Star hotels include:

As you walk along the streets of Bukit Bintang you will find a number of budget 2-3 Star hotels offering clean, air-conditioned rooms under RM 80 per night.

The area is also popular for serviced apartments located in the back streets of Bukit Bintang including Jalan Larong, Jalan Ceylon, and Jalan Bukit Ceylon. These streets are ideal to stay in as they provide very easy access to most places of interest in Bukit Bintang.

Bukit Bintang Kuala Lumpur

What makes Bukit Bintang such a popular place to stay in Kuala Lumpur?

Bukit Bintang is very popular with middle-eastern visitors to Kuala Lumpur traveling for their honeymoon as well as family travelers. Therefore, most of the services including restaurants, food outlets, and shopping caters to a wide range of international audience and visitors. Besides, most places of interest including the food street, street shopping, massage parlors, and shopping malls are located right next to each other.

The area is equally enjoyable to be explored in the daytime or at night time. There is plenty of mid-range shopping option at Sungei Wang Shopping Malls and a number of markets located near the Bukit Bintang Train Station.

Besides, with easy light rail access, Bukit Bintang is easily accessible from the most popular tourist hotspots like KL Sentral, Chinatown, Chowkit, and the KLCC area. I prefer to stay in Bukit Bintang when I am traveling solo as it is very convenient to explore the neighborhood on foot and saves the hassle of catching taxis in the traffic of Kuala Lumpur.

Shopping in Bukit Bintang Kuala Lumpur

One of the main reasons to stay in Bukit Bintang is to enjoy world-class shopping at some of the best Shopping Malls in Kuala Lumpur including The Pavilion, Farenheit88, Sephora, and Sungei Wang which are located right next to each other. One of my favorite shopping malls in Kuala Lumpur, The Berjaya Shopping Mall is two stops away on LRT from Bukit Bintang Station and provides excellent shopping options besides an indoor theme park on the 5th floor.

Even if you are not staying in Bukit Bintang, these malls are located along with the LRT station at Bukit Bintang which is easily accessible from all parts of the city.

The Pavilion Malls has a number of Continental Cafes, Bars, and restaurants catering to western tastes. Johnny Rocket, O'Galito Bar & Grill & La Bodega are some regular hangouts in the mall.
